教育研究支援員制度
Since 2006, in order to support research activities of female faculty involved in childbirth, childcare, nursing care etc., we have started the “Education and Research Assistant System” which mainly adopts doctoral course graduate as an education and research assistant. From 2008, male faculty whose wife is a full-time researcher at other research institutions became to be able to use this system as well. Other research institutions include universities and their collaborating institutions, institutions of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MEXT) that conduct academic research, and technical colleges.
This is a system to contribute to career development and career reconstruction for both supporters and users.

Both faculty and education and research assistants are obliged to submit activity report in the end of every year.
We conducted a questionnaire survey for women faculty in FY2007 and FY2008 as well as a questionnaire survey for education and research assistants in FY2009. Also, at the end of FY2008, we conducted a survey of female faculty’s research activity over three years. From these surveys, it was verified that this system plays a major role in improving the environment surrounding women faculty and education and research assistants.
In FY2012, we conducted a questionnaire survey and interview about the career path of education and research assistants as well as the state of improvement of the environment in campus considering women’s life events. Both are based on the statements of The Second Medium-term Goals/Medium-term Plans.
We have been implementing this system after April, 2016. Furthermore, we will continue to implement for the future.
